Growing Local Economies
Rotary club of Benin gave out to sets of multipurpose grinding machines to indigent widows.
Rotary club of Benin identified some indigent widows in our community engaged in the production of bean cake locally called Akara. The sets of widows have a low income from their turn over due to the fact that they go elsewhere to bring their produce for a fee. Rotary club of Benin decided to donate a multipurpose grinding machines to the women in a surprise visit to the market places. In reaction during the handing over ceremony they shed tears of joy and danced heartily to the admiration of onlookers and passersby. With the gesture they could not only grind their produce for themselves but render such services to others for a fee thereby enhancing their income generation.
